Made this for some time but I never got to write on my blog about it! I mean… on my own blog!

I know I’m not the first one to do this, and definitely not the best build out there, aware of that. The entire thing started when my son found out about “retro games” from some YouTube videos.

Now, being the responsible parent that I am, looked a bit into it and installed a RetroPie image on an SD card and straight into a RaspberryPi. Won’t go into all the details of setting that up, it’s pretty straight-forward, and there are a lot of resources out there to help you with that. Oh, and I will definitely won’t tell you where to get the ROMs for that, you’ll have to figure that out by yourselves.

After that was done, we played a bit with a wireless keyboard (full size), which kinda sucked really, after that tried one of these, but it just wasn’t the right tool for the job.

So, being the same “responsible father” as before, figured it’s a good idea to build an arcade controller myself.

Therefore, went and got a set of arcade buttons, with a joystick and and USB board, had some scrap wood laying around, locked myself in the garage for a few hours and voilà! 🙂
